A Christmas Request

Please reach out to one person in your life this holiday season who is a total pain in the ass.

You don't have to have them seated next to you at your annual feast (although that is a lovely idea), but just a text telling them you are thinking about them is enough. There are people in this world in pain and the only way they know how to deal with that pain is to shut everyone out because contact and connection makes them feel. They drill into their routines and their distractions and wait for the phone calls to stop coming in, delete the messages that are left. But the reality is they still see that you've called, they still register the intention. Their rejection of you is about them not wanting to feel, not about you... no matter what they've told themselves (or you).
